Maps with Falling Platforms
Arenas with no floor: the ground is a stream of boxes falling or sliding past, and standing still carries you out.
On these maps the ground does not stay put: boxes fall or slide, and standing still is how you lose. Both are built from the same wooden boxes, which are climbable, so a missed jump can be saved by grabbing a side face. In Freefall there is no floor at all. Twenty-four boxes drop through three offset columns and out of the world, so you survive by hopping to a higher box before yours leaves. In Sidefall gravity is ordinary and the boxes form three conveyor rows that carry you right, toward a glowing kill wall. Freefall asks you to climb. Sidefall asks you to run against the flow, so you hold your place on the incoming boxes.
Drops ride the boxes too. A weapon you do not grab in time is carried away with its box.
The maps
- Freefall
No floor at all. Every platform is a box falling endlessly past the bottom of the world.
- Sidefall
Freefall rotated sideways: a row of boxes carried across the arena while gravity stays ordinary.
